Disk Space This is the amount of space allocated for your site & email. Each 20 MB is on average enough space for 5 webpages or 100 e-mails. |

Monthly Transfer This is the amount of bandwidth available for data transfer. Each time a page is viewed it uses bandwidth equal to the size of the page. Emails that are sent or recieved also use bandwidth. On average 1000MB (1GB) of bandwidth is adequate for hundreds of visitors a day and hundreds of emails, though results vary depending on the content/size of these. |

Email Accounts This the number of email accounts you can have, each account can be given to a different person in your family or you might use it to keep some emails separate from others (family or financial). In this way you can have accounts for joe@your domain.com and banks@ your domain.com or even mother@ your domain.com etc... |

MySQL If you wanted a dynamic site you can use the MySQL database that comes with your hosting. With this you can use various programs designed by other people or if you are brave do your own, you could have your own photo gallery, blog, guestbook or even just a calender or address book. MySQL is a powerful database which enables you to take control of your site. |

Yearly Fee Each year you will need to renew your account with ourselves, this pays for the services we offer you and enables us to continue hosting your site. The yearly fee may be paid by standing order if you wish to set this up let us know, otherwise we will contact you near to the time and ask for payment. Of course if you wish to discontinue hosting at that time just let us know and you do not have to pay! |

Monthly Fee Each month you will need to renew your account with ourselves, this pays for the services we offer you and enables us to continue hosting your site. With paypal you can easily pay your fee each month, if you need to cancel - so long as oyu have been with us for a minimum of 12 months just let us know and we will end your hosting at the next billing cycle. |

Anti-Spam and Antivirus Believe it or not over 80 percent of mail recieved to our servers each day is spam. Spam is unsolicited e-mail, sometimes quite nasty in its nature - we employ several scanning solutions which prevent spam. Any emails which are definately spam are removed by our servers, if an e-mail could be spam, but might also be real it is sent to you but the subject has {spam?} in it indicating it may be spam. We also scan each email for Virii, these are removed automatically keeping you safe. In addition to those we also try to prevent Phishing - Phishing is when someone tries to trick you to giving passwords and usernames away - usually to bank accounts or accounts to sites such as eBay. If our server detects this attempt it will attempt to not deliver the email or warn you in the email that a link may not be trustworth. All this protection comes for free with ALL our hosting packages. |

PHP and Perl Scripting To make a website truely dynamic many people use PHP or perl scripting. We offer both of these which enables features like guestbooks, photo galleries etc.. to be developed - PHP also allows fast access to MySQL databases and is recommended for this. |

FTP FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. Basically it allows you to put your website from your computer onto our servers. All webdesign packages support this nowadays. Remember any usage counts towards your bandwidth and disk-space totals. |

POP3 and SMTP Using POP3 you can read your e-mails using programs such as Thunderbird and Outlook. SMTP allows you to send emails through our servers - again supported by all the modern email programs. |

Domain Aliasing If you have more than one domain, but you want the same website to be shown for both (i.e. .co.uk domain and .com) along with recieving emails to both domains you do not have to purchase an extra hosting package. Domain aliasing means that the domains on the list on our server will be treated alike. So you get hosting for more than one Domain for the price of one.
